Christmas Presents

Nursing cover remake
This may look a little familiar. It's the nursing cover I made before I had William, I just changed it some. It was hard to use because it wasn't stiff enough so I added interfacing, more fabric on the back and for fun I added ribbon and a ruffle.
If any of you have any ideas about what else I could sew for Samuel and Joseph for Christmas please let me know. It is so hard to come up with ideas for what to make for boys.
Pajama bottoms for Joseph (for Christmas).

Pajama bottoms for Samuel (for Christmas).

Joseph's Birthday Party and Playgroup

Joseph's Birthday is this Tuesday but Jon has to work so we celebrated it on Saturday morning. We invited a couple of friends to celebrate with us also.
These are the pajama bottoms I made for Joseph's Birthday. I was trying to get a closer picture so you could see the cute dinosaur pattern on them, Joseph decided to bend down so I could see his face too.

Joseph is turning 9! I can't believe he is getting so big.

Joseph got lots of Star Wars stuff which made him really happy!

This is the cake Joseph asked for. I made one like it a few years ago for Samuel's birthday.

When school started back this year Grace started going to a playgroup once a week with kids from church. I think there are about 7 of them who come and we rotate each week who's house it is at.This week we had playgroup at our house. Grace loves playgroup! This is the first time we have had it at our house. We had to cancel it one time (because Grace had pink eye) and then reschedule it the other time (because of the head lice). We only had 2 kids this time but Grace had a lot of fun.

Lots of Snow!

We have had a couple of really busy weeks. To start out Elizabeth came home from school with head lice (Grace also had a little bit of head lice too, luckily the rest of us were fine). So the chaos ensued. Apperently she got it because if the kids forgot hats and gloves they send the kids to the lost and found for one. (i was not happy about that! I talked to the school about that and I think they are going to change that. So I have spent the last 2 weeks cleaning, washing the girls hair and combing it out with a special comb (every day), doing mountains of laundry and of course all of that along with taking care of all of the normal everday stuff (including taking care of my 2 month old baby). Luckily a couple of friends from church came and helped me because I was swamped.

I did manage to sew some even with all that was going (only because it keeps me sane). One of my projects was to add long sleeves to some of Williams shirts. I thought it was a great idea. I did it to 4 of his shirts. I am planning on making a tutorial about how to add long sleeves. So if you would like to I can email it to you when I get that made.
Here are two of the shirts I added sleeves to.

This was the view of our deck after our big snow storm (which was a week ago). I think we got almost 1 1/2 feet of snow in one day. Poor Jon was sore after shoveling for over 3 hours on last Saturday. Then overnight we got more snow and it drifted from the wind. Luckily the next day a friend came with his snow blower and helped Jon. We had church canceled because the roads were so bad.

I also made some super hero headbands and onsies with ties on them for a craft show my friend had at her house.

Winter is Here

We had our first real snowstorm here on Friday. We got about a foot and a half of snow. I haven't got pictures of the kids playing in the snow yet. They are really enjoying playing in the snow though. Samuel and Joseph have already built a snow fort and snow hill to sled on. They both really enjoy shoveling the snow also.
Samuel has a sinus infection right now but he is starting to feel better I took him to the doctor on Wednesday.
I have been having fun Christmas shopping. This is the first year in the eleven years Jon and I have been married that I haven't been worried about having money for Christmas presents. We have been really blessed this year!

Doesn't William look adorable all bundled up? Today I had fun baking Christmas cookies with my kids.

I made Grace these fun rufled flannel pants last night.

I made this doll tutu for Grace's doll.
Shhh don't tell the girls. These are Christmas presents.

More doll pajama pants. (They match their doll sleeping bags.)

An apron for Grace and her doll.

Doll skirts.

Thankful

This week was a good week. For Thanksgiving we ate our big meal at a friends house. Although our car didn't want to start so they had come pick us up. (Our car doesn't like the cold.) Jon decided to stay home until he could get the car running. The only problem was he didn't get it running until after we got back home. (He probably enjoyed the quiet though.) We brought some food home for him. It was nice not to have to worry about making the big turkey dinner all by myself. I just made some stuffing and pumpkin dessert. Our kids really enjoyed playing with their kids. It also helped me not miss my family as badly as I usually do. We played games also on Thanksgiving. Over all it was a nice day.
I just wanted share some of the things I am grateful for.
My wonderful children!

My great husband!
I am also greatful for my health. I have been through alot in regards to my emotional health but I feel better then I ever have. I had a blessing about two years ago that said I would be healed completly. It didn't happen overnight but it has happened. I am so happy and I am content with who I am. It has not been an easy road to get to where I am at. For those of you who struggle with depression please know that there is hope! Just keep on trying and pray. Prayer has really gotten me through everything that I have been through.
I am also grateful for my wonderful parents, father and mother-inlaw, brothers, sisters, brother and sister inlaws, nieces and nephews, all of our family and wonderful friends. I want to thank all of you for the great influence you are on our family. We love all of you and appreciate all you do for us.
My heart is so full right now. I hope all is well with all of you and that you all enjoy the Christmas season.

Ties

I saw this cute idea for appliqeing ties onto onsies and decided to try it.
Doesn't William look cute with his tie?

Doll pj pants (for Elizabeth and Grace for Christmas).

More twirly skirts (to sell).

I made Christmas skirts for Elizabeth and Grace.

Pajama Gang

William rolled over for the first time on friday. He is also smiling at us a lot. It is so fun to see him doing new things. He is a great baby! Grace and Elizabeth all dressed up for church.

The Pajama Gang!
Samuel, Joseph, Elizabeth and Grace wearing their new pajama pants that I made them.

Elizabeth's surgery went well and she now is running around and playing as usual. (I had to remind her not to run and jump on the day of her surgery.)

Doll Sleeping Bags

I finally finished all the doll sleeping bags. I made a total of 9. Five to sell at the craft store one for each of my girls and 2 for a friend of mine. Needless to say I am in no hurry to make anymore. I sewed the last 3 and half of one sleeping bag yesterday along with Samuel and Joseph's pajama pants. I didn't get much else done yesterday. My goal this past week was to finish the doll sleeping bags or at least the 5 to sell. So I accomplished that and the boy's pajama pants.
